How much technical support will be available?
Technical support is limited, however we will work with each resident on a case to case basis.

How much access to the lab do artists have?
Full access for the duration of their residency, however they may need to share the lab if a workshop or public event coincides during their session, or if they are scheduled with another artist in residence. Artists in residence are able to sit in on the workshops for a discounted rate.

Yes, artists are responsible for their own materials.

What is public transportation like in the area? Will I need a car?
The Lab is situated in a rural area, approximately 5 miles from the nearest grocery store. It is critical to have access to a personal vehicle to purchase food, materials and for research purposes - the surrounding region can be incredibly inspirational. Personal transportation is required.

What are the accommodations like?
YVML artist-in-residence quarters are located in three campers: a restored fifth-wheel trailer, customized airstream and modern Nomad just steps away from the Lab. Designed for essential and temporary living, the quarters provide resident artists privacy and independence.
